Set against the backdrop of a decaying Midwestern town, a murder becomes the focal point of three people who work in a doll factory.

It is winter in the mid-1970s in Tornio, a village near the northern border between Finland and Sweden. Esko is a boy with a lot of problems. He has succeeded in getting on the wrong side of his gang.

Fletch is a fish out of water in small-town Louisiana, where he's checking out a tumbledown mansion he's inherited.
